Head of Islamic Education (Start Sep 2024)

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Islamic Education to join GEMS Founders School in Dubai starting September 2024. The role will work closely with the CEO, Principals and Vice‑Principal to shape the vision and direction of Islamic education across the school.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior leadership in defining aims, objectives and the School Development Plan for Islamic education.
• Lead self‑review, evaluation and resource planning to drive continuous improvement.
• Set high expectations for student achievement and monitor progress.
• Embed the Academy’s Mission, Vision and Values in all decision‑making processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience, preferably in a leadership role and teaching Islamic education.
• Valid teacher‑qualifying certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to build relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the wider school community.
• Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and curriculum development.
• Proficiency with IT tools to support classroom and administrative tasks.
