Head Sommelier - Chinese Restaurant

About the role

Wynn Al Marjan Island is seeking a Head Sommelier to lead the wine program for its Chinese restaurant. The role combines brand ambassadorship, team leadership, and the creation of memorable wine experiences for guests and members.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the sommelier team, upholding Wynn values, wine program standards, and service excellence.
• Develop and maintain the wine list, ensuring luxury service standards and safety compliance.
• Provide expert wine recommendations and personalized pairings for guests and members.
• Plan and conduct wine tastings, educational seminars, and training sessions for staff.
• Collaborate with the Administrative Wine Team and Membership Team on sales initiatives and business growth projects.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 21 years, complying with local alcohol service regulations.
• 3‑5 years of sommelier experience in a luxury hotel, fine‑dining restaurant, or integrated resort.
• Certified Sommelier qualification (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, vintages, and food‑pairing principles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team‑development abilities, with experience training staff.
• Fluent in English and flexible to work varying schedules.
