Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Engineer

About the role

The HSE Engineer will lead the development, review and maintenance of health, safety and environmental manuals and provide professional guidance to field staff. The role ensures that all projects comply with the highest HSE standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update safety and environment standards, procedures and guidelines for in‑house use and for contractors/consultants.
• Plan and prepare safety, health and environmental impact assessments for new projects.
• Maintain current HSE manuals and ensure they are accessible to field personnel.
• Identify high‑risk activities, conduct risk assessments and recommend control measures.
• Coordinate self‑inspection programmes and improve safety procedures based on operational feedback.
• Conduct audits of contractors and perform technical evaluations of equipment to verify HSE compliance.
• Support incident investigations, emergency plan development and continuous improvement of operational safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in developing HSE documentation and conducting risk assessments.
• Ability to provide guidance to field staff on HSE matters.
• Experience auditing contractors and evaluating equipment for HSE compliance.
