Health, Safety & Environmental Officer

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Officer to support its UAE projects. You will ensure compliance with internal HSE management systems, project requirements, and local legislation while fostering a safe work environment for all staff and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor AtkinsRéalis HSE procedures and project-specific requirements.
• Conduct daily site HSE tours, safety training, and weekly safety meetings.
• Issue and follow up on Safety Enforcement Notices (SEN) and ensure timely closure of HSE issues.
• Review and comment on contractor HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Develop and maintain HSE documentation, registers, and accident/incident reports.
• Investigate accidents, compile statistics, and report critical safety concerns to the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum HSE qualifications such as NEBOSH Diploma/IGC.
• Lead auditor training for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Professional membership (IIRSM or IOSH) preferred.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Experience supervising site safety in the Middle East.
