Hostess - Sobe

About the role

W Hotels is hiring a Hostess for its Sobe restaurant. The hostess greets guests, seats them and keeps the dining room running smoothly, while following company and safety policies.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, find out the size of their party and seat them at a clean, available table, pulling out chairs and placing a clean, current menu in front of them.
• Guide guests through the dining rooms and help with any needs, arranging seating for groups with special needs.
• Ensure place settings are correct, with a napkin, clean silverware and other standard items, and check that menus are current, clean and wrinkle-free.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, monitor seating availability, service, safety and guest well-being, and follow clean-as-you-go procedures.
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager, complete safety training and certifications, and keep proprietary information confidential.
• Welcome guests according to company standards, speak clearly and professionally, answer phones with good etiquette, and build positive working relationships with colleagues.
• Stand, sit or walk for long periods, move and lift objects up to 10 pounds, and perform other reasonable duties asked by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No related work experience or supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required.
