Hostess - Waldorf Astoria DIFC Restaurant

About the role

The Hostess at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is the first point of contact for the restaurant and is responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations and coordinating seating so that every guest feels valued, welcomed and cared for. The role works closely with the Food & Drinks team to uphold Forbes Five-Star standards.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables, presenting menus professionally
• Manage reservations, recording guest preferences, dietary requirements, allergies and special occasions
• Maintain knowledge of the menu, promotions and restaurant facilities
• Answer telephone calls courteously and record and relay messages accurately
• Follow reporting procedures and communicate operational concerns promptly
• Keep impeccable grooming, presentation and hygiene standards according to Waldorf Astoria guidelines
• Work with the restaurant team to deliver personalised service and anticipate guest needs

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar role or in a Food and Beverage department
• Positive attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills
• Committed to high levels of customer service and able to work alone or in a team
• Flexibility to respond to a range of work situations
• Previous experience in a luxury hotel in Dubai is advantageous

Required skills

• Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations
• Previous experience of cash handling
• Knowledge of Forbes Five-Star standards is advantageous
