Individuals & Societies Teacher (IB) – August Start

About the role

GEMS International School, Al Khail is seeking experienced Individuals & Societies teachers to join its IB World School community starting August 2026. The role involves delivering inquiry‑based learning, fostering curiosity, and supporting the development of confident global citizens.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based lessons for Secondary I&S.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs, including EAL and gifted students.
• Differentiate instruction and integrate technology to enhance learning.
• Assess, record, and communicate student progress, using data to inform personalised support.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design IB‑aligned curriculum, resources, and assessments.
• Contribute to co‑curricular activities, school events, and community initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and reflect on teaching practice.

Required profile

• Degree‑level teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) in Individuals & Societies or Social Sciences.
• Minimum three years of secondary I&S teaching experience, preferably within an IB curriculum.
• Experience with MYP and DP is advantageous.
• Passion for innovative, inquiry‑based teaching and commitment to the school’s values.
