Junior Accountant (Odoo ERP)

About the role

An Abu Dhabi employer is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and financial record-keeping. The role suits someone with hands-on Odoo ERP experience, knowledge of UAE accounting practices and VAT regulations, and the ability to help with month-end closing.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain daily financial transactions in Odoo ERP
• Process sales and supplier invoices, receipts, payments and journal entries
• Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Maintain VAT records and assist with VAT return submissions
• Verify invoices, expense claims and supporting documents
• Follow up on outstanding payments and overdue balances
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing, and support internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and UAE tax regulations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE
• Good understanding of UAE VAT regulations and FTA compliance requirements
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills
• Ability to manage several tasks and meet deadlines, with good communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
