Junior Marine Engineer

About the role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Junior Marine Engineer to join its Dubai team. You will support the design and analysis of coastal and marine infrastructure projects, working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design coastal protection structures such as revetments and breakwaters.
• Develop beach nourishment solutions, including groynes.
• Design scour protection and marine structures like jetties, ramps, and quay walls.
• Engineer seawater intake and outfall systems.
• Prepare, manage, and review bathymetric surveys, sediment sampling, and water‑quality testing.
• Perform hydrodynamic modelling of near‑shore wave conditions, wave transformation, and sediment transport.
• Conduct site inspections of construction works to ensure compliance.
• Produce feasibility, concept, and detailed design reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Marine or Coastal Engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Working knowledge of industry practices, regulations and current engineering technology.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hydrodynamic software packages.
• Experience using engineering design software.
• Ability to analyse bathymetric survey data.
• Competence in sediment sampling and water‑quality testing.
• Skills in hydrodynamic modelling and sediment transport analysis.
