Junior Piping / Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Junior Piping / Mechanical Engineer will support engineering, design, construction, and commissioning activities for Oil & Gas projects, assisting senior engineers and ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support preparation and review of piping layouts, plot plans, equipment layouts, P&IDs, isometrics, and specifications.
• Assist in piping design activities including routing, line sizing, pipe support, material selection, and interface coordination.
• Support mechanical engineering tasks for static and rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, vessels, and heat exchangers.
• Review vendor drawings, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and participate in 3D model, design, and constructability reviews.
• Assist with site inspections, installation, hydro‑testing, mechanical completion, and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, with at least 2 years in the GCC region.
• Ability to work under guidance of senior engineers and follow project procedures, QA/QC, and HSE requirements.

Required skills

• Piping layout and isometric preparation.
• P&ID interpretation.
• Piping design software and material selection.
• Equipment datasheet preparation and engineering calculations.
• Familiarity with ASME/API standards and ADNOC/client specifications.
