Junior Sous Chef – French Pastry

About the role

Join the French Pastry team at InterContinental Dubai Festival City as a Junior Sous Chef, supporting the creation of innovative desserts and assisting in daily kitchen operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing new pastry creations and organizing special events and food promotions.
• Maintain comprehensive product knowledge of ingredients, equipment, suppliers, and current trends.
• Participate in menu planning, costing, and ensure outstanding culinary technical standards.
• Support hygiene standards, kitchen cleanliness, and personal hygiene practices.
• Help with staffing needs, recruitment, induction, training, and performance appraisal processes.
• Monitor departmental costs and approve leave based on hotel occupancy.

Required profile

• Experience in a luxury restaurant or 5‑star hotel environment, especially French cuisine.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated leadership of a sizable team and commitment to high‑quality food.
• Passion for cooking and creating innovative menus.
