Junior Structural Engineer

About the role

ARX is expanding its Middle East presence and seeks a motivated Junior Structural Engineer for its Dubai site office. You will support senior engineers in reviewing and coordinating reinforced‑concrete and steel shop drawings within a fast‑paced engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in checking reinforced‑concrete and steel shop drawings against design documents, specifications, codes and project requirements.
• Prepare and maintain shop‑drawing review trackers, comment logs and technical registers to ensure timely closure of engineering actions.
• Coordinate structural comments with designers, contractors, subcontractors, BIM/CAD teams and site engineers.
• Support the review of bar‑bending schedules, material submittals, method statements, RFIs and other structural technical submissions.
• Participate in coordination meetings, technical workshops and internal design reviews, recording actions and following up assigned items.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on building, infrastructure or large‑scale construction projects, with mandatory shop‑drawing review experience.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to identify drawing inconsistencies and coordination clashes.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Revit, Tekla, Navisworks, Civil 3D or similar BIM tools.
• Basic knowledge of international structural design standards and construction documentation workflows.
