Laundry Sorter – Commercial Laundry

About the role

The Laundry Sorter works in a commercial laundry environment, handling the receipt, classification, and preparation of garments and linens for washing. The role is essential for maintaining order, quality, and efficiency in the sorting process.

Key responsibilities

• Receive soiled laundry from customers and internal collection points.
• Sort garments, uniforms, linens, and other textiles by color, fabric type, washing requirements, and customer specifications.
• Inspect items for stains, damage, missing components, and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Separate heavily stained or damaged items for special treatment.
• Tag, count, and track customer items accurately.
• Load sorted laundry onto carts, bins, or conveyors for washing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sorting area.
• Assist with loading and unloading laundry carts as needed.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Meet daily productivity targets while ensuring quality standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a laundry or textile handling environment (preferred).
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to read and write basic English.
