Lead Construction Engineer - Mechanical Offshore

About the role

Worley is seeking a Lead Construction Engineer to drive mechanical offshore construction activities, ensuring compliance with HSSE plans and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and drive construction involvement in technical design, fabrication and installation workpack preparation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with client procurement and construction groups, ensuring constructability is integrated early.
• Prepare and manage workpacks, including testing requirements, specialist tools, equipment, and vendor selection.
• Conduct offshore surveys, address fabrication and installation queries, and ensure timely IFC construction comments.
• Oversee transport, installation plans, and commissioning strategies as part of workpack deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with 15+ years of relevant Oil & Gas or Petrochemical experience (12 years for UAE nationals).
• Minimum 5 years in a similar senior role on major projects, managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in GCC region, preferably with ADNOC and offshore projects.
• Proven ability to work in a collaborative, multi‑discipline environment and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Offshore construction experience (barge, platform, complex projects).
• FEED and EPC phase expertise.
• Workpack preparation and constructability review.
• Vendor and subcontractor liaison.
