Legal Counsel

About the role

Bayut & dubizzle is seeking a Legal Counsel to manage complex commercial and legal matters across the dubizzle Group, primarily focusing on UAE operations. You will ensure the legality of transactions, draft and negotiate contracts, and provide strategic legal advice.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee commercial legal matters, including IP, M&A, compliance, and TMT issues.
• Draft, amend, and administer commercial contracts and agreements.
• Provide advice on contract compliance, rights, and obligations.
• Negotiate deal terms and represent the company in legal proceedings.
• Develop company policies on legal issues and maintain an electronic contract filing system.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law (England & Wales, Australia, South Africa or equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction) with training at an international law firm.
• 5‑8 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in an international law firm or multinational organization.
• Experience as a commercial lawyer with exposure to technology, media and telecommunications matters.
• Strong oral and written communication, excellent drafting skills, and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
