Legal Director

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Legal Director to provide strategic legal counsel to senior management of Dubai Holding Hospitality’s luxury hotel and resort portfolio. The role involves overseeing all legal matters across multiple regions, ensuring compliance, and protecting the group’s assets and intellectual property.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior leadership on legal issues affecting the Jumeirah group and interpret relevant laws and regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, partnerships, and client contracts.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and support real‑estate transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, and developments.
• Monitor changes in local and regional legislation affecting the hospitality industry and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Manage litigation, dispute resolution, and coordinate with external counsel when required.
• Oversee intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, and licensing agreements.
• Lead corporate governance activities, board meetings, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
• Identify legal risks and implement risk‑mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Minimum 8‑10 years post‑qualification legal experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Senior in‑house legal role within an international luxury hospitality or multinational blue‑chip organization.
• Proven ability to advise senior management on complex, cross‑border legal matters, especially in the Middle East and Asia.
• Strong knowledge of UAE Federal and Emirate laws, contract and asset management, and hotel operations.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing major contracts.
• Law degree (LL.B, J.D or equivalent) and admission to practice in a recognized jurisdiction.
