Legal Executive

About the role

The Legal Executive will manage maritime and cargo claim processes for shipping containers, ensuring compliance with maritime law and delivering effective resolutions for clients in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Assess container damage and investigate claim causes.
• Prepare and submit claim documentation, reports and correspondence.
• Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, logistics and container leasing companies.
• Negotiate settlements and coordinate with insurers to resolve claims.
• Maintain accurate claim records and ensure deadlines are met.
• Stay updated on maritime regulations and shipping industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law.
• Minimum 2 years experience handling shipping container, cargo or maritime claims in the UAE or home country.
• Experience with shipping lines, freight forwarding or logistics companies is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of container damage assessment, claim investigation and resolution.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of maritime law and shipping industry regulations.
• Understanding of cargo and container claims procedures, insurance and liability.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in preparing claim documentation and reports.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, and familiarity with claims management systems.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
