Life Acceptance Underwriting Manager – Middle East

About the role

QBE Europe is seeking a Life Acceptance Underwriting Manager for the Middle East, based in Dubai. This newly created position will lead the development of the Life Acceptance Underwriting function across the region, providing technical expertise, strategic direction, and high‑quality support to colleagues and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice on classification, rating and selection of life risks to ensure consistent, commercially sound underwriting decisions.
• Collaborate directly with clients to understand needs, advise on assessment processes and deliver technical expertise.
• Build and nurture relationships through client meetings, workshops and market events, promoting QBE’s Life Acceptance capabilities.
• Influence product development and contribute to business growth by shaping underwriting solutions.
• Develop and eventually lead a technically strong underwriting team as the function expands.

Required profile

• Proven experience in life insurance underwriting, preferably within acceptance or financial underwriting.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work with reinsurance underwriters and clients.
• Strategic thinking with a focus on delivering excellent client experiences.
