Regional Head of Internal Audit

About the role

Strategic HR Solutions is seeking a Regional Head of Internal Audit to lead the internal audit function for a leading insurance organization operating across multiple entities in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a robust internal audit strategy aligned with organisational objectives.
• Lead audits across underwriting, claims, reinsurance, reserving, investments, finance and operations.
• Provide independent assurance on governance, risk management and internal controls.
• Present audit findings, key risks and recommendations to senior management and audit committees.
• Establish consistent audit methodologies, standards and practices across the organisation.

Required profile

• 12–15+ years of experience in internal audit within insurance, banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, reinsurance, reserving and investments.
• Experience working in a group, regional or multi‑entity environment.
• Proven experience interacting with audit committees, boards and senior management.
• International experience and willingness to relocate to the UAE.

Required skills

• Knowledge of governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Familiarity with IFRS 17 and insurance regulatory requirements.
• Professional qualifications such as CIA (highly preferred), CPA, ACCA, CISA or CRMA.
