M&A Director – Digital Growth

About the role

VEON, a Nasdaq‑listed global digital operator, is seeking a seasoned M&A Director to lead and execute strategic transactions across its portfolio. The role focuses on high‑growth digital verticals such as FinTech, digital banking, entertainment, health tech, and ride‑hailing, supporting the Group’s digital expansion agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and execute complex international M&A opportunities, including acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers.
• Conduct strategic analysis and financial modeling to assess target fit and value creation.
• Lead end‑to‑end transaction processes, coordinating due diligence, negotiation, and integration activities.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief Investment Officer and operating companies to align M&A initiatives with corporate strategy.
• Represent VEON externally, influencing stakeholders and building relationships that facilitate successful deal outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading cross‑border M&A transactions, preferably within digital or telecom sectors.
• Strong understanding of financial, regulatory, and operational aspects of large‑scale deals.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
• Track record of delivering value‑creating transactions in fast‑moving, technology‑driven environments.
