Maintenance Engineer - CCTV

About the role

Presight, an Abu Dhabi-based big data analytics company, is hiring a Maintenance Engineer for its CCTV team. The engineer keeps enterprise video-surveillance services available and performing well, covering field maintenance, CCTV and VMS engineering, infrastructure support and service reliability. The role spans the full lifecycle, from design review and deployment through testing, commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance, incident response and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preventive, corrective and condition-based maintenance of enterprise IP CCTV and VMS/CVMS environments, and monitor camera availability, recording continuity, live-view and playback performance.
• Diagnose faults in cameras, recording and streaming services, management servers, storage, network switches, UPS systems and virtual machines, and coordinate service restoration during major incidents.
• Design and maintain service health checks, dashboards, alert rules, event correlation, service maps and reports; define and track service-level indicators.
• Test and commission cameras and VMS (ONVIF, RTSP, H.264/H.265, time sync, authentication, events and analytics), and review designs, test procedures and vendor submissions before handover.
• Investigate complex incidents, prepare root-cause analyses and known-error records, and plan maintenance windows and technical changes.
• Maintain inventories, firmware and software baselines, licensing records and configuration backups, and automate validation, log collection and reporting tasks.
• Prepare SOPs, troubleshooting guides, test reports and handover packs, train project, operations and field teams, and comply with QHSE, business continuity, information security and privacy policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT, computer engineering, electronics, telecommunications, electrical engineering or a related field; an associate degree may be considered with substantial experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in CCTV, VMS, physical-security integration, infrastructure operations, site reliability or a comparable mission-critical environment.
• Hands-on experience designing, configuring, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting enterprise IP CCTV and VMS solutions.
• Ability to lead or coordinate technical workstreams across project and operations teams, and to coordinate vendors, contractors, field teams, infrastructure teams, operations personnel and customers.

Required skills

• CCTV/VMS platforms such as Honeywell, Huawei, Dahua, Hikvision, Hanwha, Genetec or Milestone.
• IP networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, certificates).
• ONVIF, RTSP, H.264/H.265, Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, RAID, backup and disaster recovery.
• Experience preparing technical designs, camera schedules, test plans, commissioning documents, RCA reports and operating procedures.
