Manager, Legal - MAF Properties

About the role

Majid Al Futtaim Properties is looking for a Manager, Legal to join its Head Office. The role handles, under the supervision of the Legal Director or Senior Legal Counsel, the legal aspects of the shopping mall business in the assigned region, giving sound and cost-effective legal advice to the Properties Management / Shopping Malls business unit on business growth and continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Advise regional leadership on shopping mall operations so that business decisions minimise legal, financial and reputational risks.
• Draft, review and maintain legal templates and agreements, including leases, commercial contracts, joint ventures, shareholder agreements and corporate documents.
• Support and manage litigation, disputes and legal actions, coordinating with external law firms and reviewing their opinions and submissions.
• Assist with legal matters related to HR, employment law, IT and internal policies affecting mall operations.
• Conduct legal due diligence and work with external counsel on business transactions and operational requirements.
• Advise on complex legal issues, identify risks and implement preventive measures to avoid disputes.
• Support negotiations with external parties and monitor legal developments and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• 5-7 years of progressive legal experience in a commercial law firm or real estate development company.
• Proven experience handling legal matters in GCC countries in a similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in Law; additional qualifications in Business Studies, Real Estate Management or Real Estate Development are an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of corporate, fiscal, economic, civil and commercial law.
• Ability to give legal guidance on complex business and real estate matters.
