Manager Planning - Aircraft Maintenance

About the role

The Manager Planning – Aircraft Maintenance leads Etihad's Maintenance Planning department, ensuring all commitments to service providers, staff and regulators are met efficiently. This senior role oversees budgeting, performance reviews, and the lifecycle of maintenance projects while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and develop consistent procedures to meet national airworthiness regulations and KPI targets.
• Establish efficient internal processes and support other departments as needed.
• Deliver annual maintenance cost budgets and monitor financial performance.
• Review workforce performance using Etihad appraisal systems and implement development actions.
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders on all maintenance planning matters.
• Coordinate with network scheduling to create maintenance slots.
• Represent the Planning department in meetings, follow up on actions, and ensure compliance.
• Manage the full lifecycle of maintenance projects, including pre‑input and wash‑up meetings for A checks and higher.
• Investigate and remediate quality lapses per company procedures.
• Audit technical records and ensure CAMO regulatory compliance.
• Perform additional duties assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Technical academic degree or HND in Aeronautical Engineering, or ICAO Type I/II license.
• Minimum seven years of operational experience in a Maintenance Planning environment.
• Proven management/supervisory experience in MRO or aviation operations.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of airworthiness and health‑and‑safety legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead continuous‑improvement initiatives and deliver results.
• Strong planning, operational and crisis‑management capabilities.
• Excellent time‑management and ability to drive behavioural and performance change.
• Experience effectively managing a team.
