Materials Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Materials Engineer to support an infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure that all construction materials meet project specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise all material‑related activities on site.
• Review and approve material submittals, technical data sheets, samples, and certificates.
• Verify laboratory and field test results against project requirements.
• Coordinate material testing, sampling, and inspection with contractors, laboratories, and suppliers.
• Inspect delivered materials and maintain accurate records of approvals, tests, and non‑conformances.
• Identify non‑compliant materials, report issues, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Provide technical support to the Resident Engineer and QA/QC team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience on infrastructure, roads, or civil construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, and applicable standards.
• Experience reviewing material submittals and test results.
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and project specifications.
• UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
