Materials Inspector

About the role

The Materials Inspector will work on‑site in Dubai to ensure that all construction materials and workmanship meet approved submittals, project specifications, and the requirements of the client and local authorities. Reporting to the Material Engineer, you will provide hands‑on monitoring of material deliveries, sampling, and testing throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and inspect all delivered construction materials (aggregates, cement, asphalt, steel, concrete, pipes, ducts, cables, geotextiles, paints, waterproofing, etc.).
• Verify delivery documentation, mill certificates, batch numbers, manufacturing dates and shelf life against approved submittals.
• Reject, segregate, and report non‑conforming materials.
• Carry out and witness sampling of soils, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, steel, water and utility materials in line with Inspection & Test Plans.
• Coordinate transport of samples to site or third‑party DAC‑accredited laboratories and witness testing procedures.
• Inspect roadworks, subgrade, base courses and asphalt layers, including compaction, CBR, plate load and Benkelman beam tests.
• Witness concrete pouring activities, conduct slump, temperature and air‑content tests, and oversee curing, formwork release agents and protective coatings.

Required profile

• Experience in on‑site material inspection and testing within construction or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with local Dubai authorities’ requirements (DM, RTA, DEWA).
• Ability to read and interpret material submittals, specifications and test plans.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document non‑conformances accurately.
