Materials & Production Planner

About the role

The Materials & Production Planner coordinates and expedites the flow of materials from suppliers and within departments according to production schedules, and plans and schedules material and production needs. The role acts as a key liaison between customers, production teams, engineering, suppliers and supply chain stakeholders, driving cross-functional alignment, risk mitigation and operational continuity. It is subject to direct operations supervision and prescribed work instructions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage master planning, material processes and systems, and prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs
• Ensure operational alignment with the production plan and KPIs, and optimize inventory and process improvements
• Partner with production, procurement and planning teams to secure material availability and address supply constraints proactively
• Drive and support On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance through proactive planning, coordination and timely issue resolution
• For customer-facing work, build strong customer relationships and act as the interface between the customer and the company, exchanging technical information and checking understanding

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
• 6+ years of experience in procurement, production planning and inventory management within a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience in ERP-based planning and materials management systems
• Ability to manage supplier relationships, operational risks and customer delivery commitments
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Around 10% travel within the region required
