Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Artelia is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design for aviation‑related projects across the UAE, including airport terminals, MRO hangars and control towers. The role covers the full design lifecycle from concept through construction and commissioning, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design of plumbing and compressed air systems, with HVAC design experience considered a strong plus.
• Perform engineering calculations for flow rates, pressure heads and pipe sizing.
• Develop controls, operation sequences and integrate Building Management Systems.
• Manage permitting, NOCs and approvals from local authorities such as DM, DCD and DEWA.
• Utilise BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud) for modeling, clash detection and coordination.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of mechanical design experience, primarily on UAE/GCC aviation projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education; UAE Society of Engineers membership preferred.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
