Mechanical Design Engineer – Power Generation

About the role

A leading global engineering and power solutions organisation is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development and optimisation of equipment used within power generation, critical infrastructure and industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review mechanical design concepts for industrial and power generation equipment.
• Evaluate enclosure designs, ventilation systems, cooling performance, noise control and vibration mitigation.
• Review engineering drawings, technical documentation and design specifications.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams to deliver practical and commercially viable solutions.
• Support technical discussions throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 7‑10 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in power generation, gensets or packaged power solutions.
• Strong ability to read, interpret and review engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Excellent technical communication skills for engaging customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Creo or equivalent CAD tools.
• Experience using ANSYS or similar simulation software.
• Knowledge of mechanical system design, ventilation, cooling, acoustics and vibration principles.
