Mechanical Engineer (MEP) - HVAC, Plumbing & Firefighting

About the role

Careers International is hiring a Mechanical Engineer in Dubai to lead the mechanical scope of work on large-scale construction projects, covering HVAC, plumbing and firefighting systems. The engineer oversees site execution, prepares technical documents and coordinates with consultants, clients and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical scope of work and oversee its execution at site, ensuring compliance with design, quality and safety standards.
• Prepare shop drawings, method statements and ITPs, and review and verify MEP design drawings and BOQ before and after construction.
• Ensure timely material procurement and site readiness in coordination with the planning team.
• Supervise subcontractors, monitor manpower productivity and resolve site issues.
• Conduct testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Attend progress and coordination meetings with consultants and clients.
• Maintain and submit site reports, daily logs and QA/QC documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local authority approvals such as DEWA, Civil Defence and DM.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4-6 years of UAE/GCC experience in MEP works for large-scale construction.
• Experience handling DEWA, DCD and consultant inspections.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and fire-fighting system design and execution.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA and NFPA standards.
• Strong coordination and reporting skills.
