Planning Engineer

About the role

Heilbronn Contracting LLC is looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to join its team in Dubai. The role covers project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring and reporting across construction projects, ensuring timely completion in line with approved schedules, contractual requirements and company objectives. The ideal candidate has strong experience in construction planning within the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and baseline programmes covering design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover, including master programmes, look-ahead and recovery schedules.
• Monitor progress against baseline programmes, visit sites regularly, identify delays and risks, and produce daily, weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and performance reports.
• Analyse programme deviations, prepare mitigation plans, catch-up programmes and revised schedules, support EOT submissions and delay analysis documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, consultants and subcontractors, track procurement schedules, approvals and dependencies, and present programme updates at progress meetings.
• Maintain planning records, resource histograms, S-curves and manpower schedules, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and Dubai authority requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in construction planning and project controls, including Dubai/UAE projects.
• Strong experience preparing and managing baseline programmes for building construction; proven experience in critical path analysis, delay analysis and recovery planning.
• Preferred: experience in high-rise, luxury residential, villa or large-scale projects in Dubai, familiarity with UAE construction contracts, and experience preparing EOT submissions and contractual claims.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential)
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools
• Knowledge of construction sequencing, procurement schedules, resource planning and subcontractor coordination
