Mechanical Engineering Internship

About the role

WSP Middle East is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering intern for a three‑month placement in Sharjah. You will support senior engineers in designing chilled water distribution, gas supply systems, pump stations and related mechanical infrastructure, gaining hands‑on experience with industry‑standard software.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in hydraulic and thermal calculations for chilled water networks.
• Develop schematic and layout drawings for gas distribution systems using CAD tools.
• Support pump‑station design, including pump and motor selection.
• Prepare material take‑offs, cost estimates and maintain design documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in design review meetings.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Mechanical Engineering program.
• Strong academic record with coursework in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and HVAC.
• Eligibility to work in the United Arab Emirates for the internship duration.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit (or similar CAD software).
• Familiarity with hydraulic analysis tools is a plus.
