Mechanical Maintenance Technician – UAE

About the role

Emirates Global Aluminium is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join its plant team in the United Arab Emirates. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of mechanical equipment, minimizing downtime while adhering to EHS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns, and carry out planned, preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Select appropriate tools and equipment, and follow safety and operational procedures.
• Use SAP to order spare parts, record maintenance activities and maintain accurate logs.
• Monitor recurring failures, propose and implement modifications to prevent future breakdowns.
• Perform welding, fabrication and component replacement as needed.
• Mentor newly hired mechanics and support other departments with troubleshooting.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives such as 5S, suggestion schemes and hazard reporting.

Required profile

• Diploma in a relevant engineering or technical field.
• Completion of PEC Craft Training.
• Minimum three years of experience in mechanical maintenance within heavy industry after diploma.

Required skills

• Interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Installation troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with computer‑based maintenance systems (SAP).
• Use of maintenance tools and manuals.
• Welding and fabrication techniques.
