MEP Project Manager - Oil & Gas

About the role

Fisher HR is recruiting an MEP Project Manager for oil and gas projects based in Abu Dhabi. The role manages the end-to-end execution of MEP works, ensuring delivery within approved schedules, budgets and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting and related building services works.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project controls teams.
• Review drawings, technical specifications, method statements, material submittals and construction plans.
• Monitor progress, identify delays and technical challenges and implement corrective actions.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, site engineers and supervisors; oversee material planning, procurement, manpower, equipment and site logistics.
• Monitor costs, budgets, variations and resources, and support cost control.
• Ensure compliance with approved designs, codes, client specifications and oil and gas industry standards.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, troubleshooting and handover.
• Prepare progress reports, schedules, risk registers, technical documentation and closeout reports, and lead project meetings.
• Ensure adherence to HSE policies, risk assessments, permit-to-work procedures and site safety requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8-12 years of experience in MEP project execution and management, preferably in oil and gas or EPC.
• Proven experience managing MEP works on oil and gas facilities, industrial plants or process facilities.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, vendors and client representatives.
• Preferred: EPC contractor experience, brownfield/greenfield projects, shutdowns, plant upgrades or expansions, and PMP certification.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, firefighting and plumbing, including installation and commissioning.
• Project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, quality assurance and risk management.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project and relevant engineering software.
• Leadership, communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management.
