Operations Manager - Facilities Services

About the role

Wasael Property Management is hiring a full-time Operations Manager in Abu Dhabi to lead its Facilities Services Department. The role plans, organises, leads and controls the department's activities so that service delivery is sustainable, complies with all applicable regulations and meets the annual business unit objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Facilities Services Operations department and ensure departmental objectives, including annual property and contract budgets, are met.
• Manage the team through motivation, professional development, coaching, mentoring and performance orientation.
• Define the department's service strategy and manage internal and external resources to meet client commitments.
• Ensure operations exceed client technical requirements and follow international quality standards in the field.
• Keep up to date with facility hard and soft processes, codes of practice, regulations and specifications in the GCC and internationally.
• Review and decide on facility management solutions and quality/technical specifications, and provide planning input for works.
• Monitor and coordinate issues with third-party services, contract and procurement teams, and identify potential problems early.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance against standards and specifications.
• Manage hard services tenders, contract awarding, drafting, rollout, performance evaluation, cancellation and renewal.
• Engage with suppliers at top-management level to build service partner relationships, and develop unit best-practice procedures supported by company technology.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Environmental Management).
• Minimum 10-15 years in facilities services delivery, 5 of which in management roles.
• Extensive knowledge of the facilities services industry and of local market suppliers.
• Experience working with budgets.

Required skills

• Knowledge of writing Standard Operating Procedures.
• Knowledge of implementing performance metrics.
