Phlebotomist

About the role

The Royal Clinic YAS Mall is seeking a qualified Phlebotomist to join its medical laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood specimens safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Identify patients using two identifiers and verify requisition details before venipuncture.
• Perform venipunctures, skin punctures, bleeding time tests, and blood cultures competently.
• Select appropriate tube colors and volumes based on test requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness, stock supplies, and ensure all equipment is sanitized.
• Complete clerical duties, assist technologists, and report hazardous incidents.

Required profile

• Valid DOH license or equivalent home‑country license as Phlebotomist/Lab technician.
• Diploma in Lab Technology or Phlebotomy from a recognized institution.
• Minimum two years of experience as a Phlebotomist in a medical laboratory.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; Arabic is desirable.
• Valid BLS certification from AHA.

Required skills

• Venipuncture and micro‑collection techniques.
• Blood culture and specimen handling.
• Knowledge of tube color coding and volume requirements.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSH/infection‑control policies.
