PLC/SCADA Software Engineer

About the role

Unified Microsystems is hiring a PLC/SCADA Software Engineer in Dubai. The role develops, modifies, tests and maintains industrial automation software using Siemens technologies, with a focus on software development and remote engineering support via Siemens TIA Portal V21, S7 PLCs and WinCC SCADA/HMI. It does not include electrical design, panel design or site installation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop PLC application software using Siemens TIA Portal V21 and maintain S7-1200 and S7-1500 programs.
• Develop, configure and modify WinCC HMI/SCADA applications.
• Review FDS, SOO, cause-and-effect matrices and I/O schedules before development.
• Build modular, reusable and well-documented software, test it offline with PLCSIM and support FAT and commissioning remotely.
• Maintain version control, backups and revision history, and prepare documentation, test records and change logs.
• Collaborate with project managers, controls engineers and commissioning teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer or Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience developing Siemens PLC and SCADA software.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, control panel drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs and I/O schedules.
• Strong written and verbal English.

Required skills

• Siemens TIA Portal V21, STEP 7 Professional, S7-1200 and S7-1500 PLCs, WinCC Professional and/or WinCC Unified.
• Ladder logic, function block diagram and SCL programming.
• Profinet and Modbus TCP.
• Preferred: BACnet/IP, OPC UA, ET200, SINAMICS, StartDrive, BMS and HVAC automation, and remote FAT/commissioning support.
