About the role

The Polisher joins the Engineering & Facilities team at Le Méridien Dubai, providing hands‑on maintenance and repair support to ensure guest rooms and hotel facilities operate smoothly. The role involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests, communicate solutions, and document daily activities for shift hand‑over.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, mechanical room assets and conduct visual inspections.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and clean work areas thoroughly.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, light bulbs, TVs and other guestroom items.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts, and follow lockout/tagout procedures before work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping upkeep, including sprinkler system maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and work at heights, stairs or ladders.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration basics.
• Electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, and carpentry.
• Painting, drywall repair, and wood‑trim work.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Basic computer use for HVAC scheduling and temperature adjustments.
