Post-Doctoral Associate – Land Economics Research (CITIES)

About the role

The Center for Interacting Urban Networks (CITIES) at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a post‑doctoral associate to contribute to the LANDMark project, which investigates land assets, national development and markets. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team to advance research on land pricing, determinants, macro‑economic implications, taxation and political economy.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original research on selected themes within land economics, such as price measurement, infrastructure impacts, and fiscal policy.
• Develop and apply quantitative methods, including imputation techniques and econometric analysis.
• Collaborate with faculty, other post‑docs and external researchers across economics, engineering, computer science and political science.
• Prepare research papers, policy briefs and presentations for academic conferences and stakeholder audiences.
• Contribute to grant proposals and interdisciplinary workshops.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in economics or a quantitative discipline earned within the last five years.
• Strong background in land‑related research (housing, macroeconomics, urban or spatial economics, political economy, or conflict).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
