Post‑Doctoral Associate – Geotechnical Engineering (SHORES)

About the role

The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy and Sustainability (SHORES) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks a Post‑Doctoral Associate to advance research on resilient geotechnical systems using centrifuge modeling, laboratory testing, and numerical simulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and interpret geotechnical laboratory tests to support experimental programs.
• Plan, design, conduct, and analyze centrifuge model experiments.
• Contribute to the design and development of experimental setups and apparatus.
• Publish research findings in high‑quality peer‑reviewed journals.
• Collaborate with faculty, postdoctoral researchers, students, and multidisciplinary team members.

Required profile

• PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field, awarded within the last 5 years.
• Research experience in geotechnical laboratory testing, soil characterization, and mechanical testing.
• Experience with centrifuge experimental modeling, including test design and data interpretation.
