Principal Algorithm Developer – Implementation L1

About the role

EDGE is seeking a senior algorithm developer to design, simulate and validate advanced waveform algorithms for single‑ and multi‑carrier communication systems. The role focuses on research, testing and optimisation of signal‑processing techniques for real‑time hardware implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, simulate and validate modulation, demodulation, error correction, equalisation, synchronization and frequency offset correction algorithms.
• Research and develop advanced signal‑processing methods to improve efficiency, robustness and error resilience.
• Test algorithm performance across diverse channel models (fading, noise, interference) using MATLAB, Simulink or Python.
• Optimise algorithms for real‑time implementation on FPGA/DSP platforms.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on modem integration, design reviews and stakeholder reporting.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience developing algorithms for wireless communication modems (5G, Wi‑Fi, Wi‑Max, etc.).
• Hands‑on experience with waveform optimisation and strong understanding of communications standards and protocols.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field (PhD a plus).

Required skills

• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Programming in Python and C++.
• Exposure to FPGA/ASIC hardware implementation.
• Strong grounding in channel modelling and performance metrics such as BER, SNR and throughput.
