Principal Robotics Engineer – Guidance, Navigation & Control

About the role

The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer will lead the design and implementation of advanced algorithms that enable autonomous systems to operate with high precision and stability. This senior position collaborates across avionics, software, and hardware teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop real‑time guidance algorithms for trajectory generation, path planning and mission execution, optimizing performance for safety and efficiency.
• Design multi‑sensor navigation solutions using GNSS, INS, visual odometry, LiDAR, radar and altimeters, and implement sensor‑fusion techniques such as Kalman Filters.
• Design and tune control laws for linear and nonlinear flight regimes, support actuator modeling and control‑surface tuning.
• Create GNC simulation environments and support SIL, HIL and flight testing for validation and optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace, Control Systems or related field; Master’s/PhD preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in GNC design within aerospace, defence, UAVs or autonomous systems.
