Procurement Manager - Electrical

About the role

aasa is looking for a Procurement Manager for electrical equipment in the UAE, responsible for managing complete procurement activities for power transmission and distribution projects. The role covers sourcing, negotiation, supplier management and purchase order control.

Key responsibilities

• Review BOQ, drawings, specifications, project scope and procurement requirements, and prepare procurement plans based on project schedules and material needs.
• Source and evaluate suppliers for HT/LT cables, cable accessories, transformers, RMUs, switchgears, panels, poles, towers, earthing materials and other electrical items.
• Prepare RFQs, obtain quotations, prepare comparison statements and negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties and other commercial terms.
• Review technical and commercial offers with the Engineering and Project teams, and prepare and review purchase orders, subcontract agreements and procurement documents.
• Monitor material production, inspections, delivery schedules and site requirements, and coordinate with Project, Engineering, Planning, QS, Commercial, Finance and Stores teams.
• Maintain the approved supplier database, evaluate supplier performance, resolve supplier issues and control procurement costs.
• Maintain procurement records, reports, commitments and pending order status.

Required profile

• 12-16 years of experience; strong UAE experience in power transmission and distribution projects is mandatory.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain or a relevant field.
