Production Planning Engineer

About the role

The Production Planning Engineer reports to the Lead Production Planning Engineer and ensures that Etihad Airways' safety, airworthiness and economic objectives are met efficiently using capacity planning tools. The role takes a proactive, integrated approach to capacity planning for the Line and Light Maintenance departments, monitoring resource and facility needs against the approved Annual Maintenance Plan (AMP) and Etihad Maintenance Policy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project plans to deliver business requirements as requested by the Lead Production Planning Engineer.
• Monitor processes within Technical Operations to ensure a seamless, efficient workflow and that all milestones and objectives are achieved.
• Manage capacity planning tools to maintain aircraft serviceability and technical dispatch reliability.
• Establish internal procedures and interfaces, assist other departments with capacity planning and forecast requirements.
• Review the monthly capacity trend for Line and Light maintenance, draft budget plans for additional resources and monitor the 14-day WLC so plans stay within capacity.
• Take part in event and production meetings and decisions on AOG or planned casualty needs beyond the 14-day WLC.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to arrange extra infrastructure such as hangars, cranes, dockings, special tools and parking bays in time for maintenance demands.
• Ensure all work complies with approved manuals and the Safety & Quality Management Manual (SQMM), and promotes a positive safety reporting culture.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification meeting the eligibility for chartered engineer membership (e.g. Bachelor's in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering) with at least 3 years of job-related experience.
• Or a Diploma / Aircraft licence with at least 7 years of experience in aviation maintenance.
• Aircraft technical training (a general family course is acceptable) on at least one Etihad aircraft type.
• Mandatory training under the TPM 3.92 Technical Operations Training Program.
