Protection Design Engineer

About the role

Join Siemens Smart Infrastructure as a Protection Design Engineer and contribute to innovative digital power distribution and building solutions. You will analyse project specifications, design retrofit protection systems, and ensure compliance with Siemens engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse technical information from project specifications, single line diagrams and protection logic diagrams.
• Conduct site visits, prepare survey reports, method statements and risk assessments.
• Develop base and detailed design documents for protection, SCMS, FMS and RTU panels using A‑CAD, ELCAD, EBASE and MS Visio.
• Prepare BOQ, RFQ and ordering documents, and coordinate factory‑issued construction documents.
• Participate in vendor, customer and factory meetings to review designs and resolve engineering issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience in protection and automation design.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Siemens Siprotec‑4, Siprotec‑5 and Reyrolle products.
• Proficiency in A‑CAD, ELCAD, EBASE and MS Visio.
• Knowledge of RTU, SCMS, FMS components and related architecture.
