QA/QC Engineer - Construction

About the role

A construction company in Abu Dhabi is looking for a QA/QC Engineer with 5-10 years of construction experience to ensure that works meet quality standards, project specifications and regulatory requirements. The engineer monitors construction activities, carries out inspections and coordinates with project teams to maintain compliance with Abu Dhabi authority regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the project QA/QC plan and procedures
• Carry out site inspections, quality audits and testing for civil, structural, architectural and MEP works
• Ensure work follows approved drawings, specifications and standards, and identify non-conformance issues (NCRs)
• Prepare inspection reports, quality checklists and test records; review and approve material submittals, shop drawings and method statements
• Maintain QA/QC documentation for audits, inspections and handover packages, and generate daily, weekly and monthly quality reports
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Construction Manager and site engineers, and liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
• Supervise material testing, laboratory reports and site trials, and support third-party inspections and certification
• Recommend quality improvements and train site staff and subcontractors on quality awareness

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Construction Engineering
• 5-10 years of QA/QC experience in construction, including 3-5 years in UAE/Abu Dhabi projects
• Experience in residential, commercial, high-rise or infrastructure projects
• Preferred: experience with main contractors, PMCs or consultants in Abu Dhabi, hands-on site inspection and material testing experience, and ability to mentor junior QA/QC staff

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction methods, materials and standards
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office and QA/QC software/tools
• Understanding of Abu Dhabi authority requirements, ISO 9001, and Estidama/LEED standards
• Attention to detail, analytical skills, and strong communication and coordination
