QA/QC Engineer - Infrastructure

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a QA/QC Engineer for infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role implements and maintains quality standards by coordinating with project teams, contractors and regulatory bodies so that construction processes and outcomes follow project specifications, safety regulations and environmental standards. The engineer inspects materials, monitors construction activities, runs tests and manages documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run a QA/QC plan with procedures, inspection schedules and checklists, and monitor construction activities, materials and methods against industry standards and codes.
• Carry out regular site inspections, review contractor work, document non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Prepare inspection reports, test records, material certifications and detailed reports for internal and client review, and track quality metrics.
• Coordinate and carry out on-site tests such as concrete slump, soil compaction and material strength tests, and verify that materials, equipment and work methods meet specifications.
• Monitor third-party inspection and testing agencies to confirm their accuracy.
• Work with the project manager, site supervisors, contractors, clients and regulators, and give technical guidance on quality requirements.
• Identify process improvements, help with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions, and take part in audits and lessons learned reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum of several years of experience in quality control and quality assurance for infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, railways, utilities).
• Certification in Quality Management or Construction Quality (e.g. CQE, ASQ) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, quality management systems and standards such as ASTM and ISO 9001.
• Analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team.
