Registered Nurse - OPD

About the role

Cosmesurge Hospital Umm Suqeim is hiring a Registered Nurse for its OPD. The nurse works collaboratively with other team members, upholds the NMC Nursing Strategy and provides safe, outstanding care to patients and their families. The role covers patient care coordination, education and support, and working with physicians and allied health professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and identify patients' needs, perform systematic assessments and re-assessments, and record vital signs, escalating abnormalities
• Determine nursing diagnoses, define expected outcomes and create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team
• Educate patients and the public about health conditions and give advice and emotional support
• Administer medications, IV fluids and blood products, and monitor for side effects and reactions
• Provide wound care, assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures, and prepare patients for examinations and treatment
• Facilitate safe admission, transfer and discharge, and promote a safe environment
• Perform basic life support and other resuscitation as required, including BLS, PALS, ACLS and neonatal resuscitation

Required profile

• Valid license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority, with the required qualifications and experience
• Owns and manages their own professional re-licensure
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card
• Willingness to work across departments when necessary
