Registered Nurse – Operation Theatre

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operation Theatre Nurse specialized in trauma and emergency care to join our multidisciplinary team at Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital. The role involves delivering safe, high‑quality peri‑operative care for trauma patients in a fast‑paced surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive peri‑operative nursing care for trauma and emergency surgical patients, from pre‑operative preparation to post‑operative recovery.
• Assist surgeons and the multidisciplinary team during procedures while maintaining aseptic technique and infection‑control standards.
• Prepare, check, and manage surgical instruments, equipment, implants and consumables to ensure readiness.
• Monitor and document patients’ vital signs and clinical status throughout the peri‑operative journey, escalating concerns as needed.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, recovery staff and allied health professionals to ensure seamless workflow.
• Participate in quality‑improvement, infection‑prevention and patient‑safety initiatives.
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, post‑operative care and recovery expectations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Valid DOH, DHA or MOH nursing licence (or DOH equivalent).
• Experience in operating‑room or trauma‑care nursing.
