Registered Nurse – Patient Care & Clinical Support

About the role

The Royal Hospital Sharjah is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, patient‑centred care across its primary care and inpatient units. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring each patient’s health, wellbeing and safety are prioritized from assessment through discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and allied health professionals.
• Perform systematic patient assessments, record vital signs, and promptly escalate any abnormalities.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide wound care, suturing, foreign body removal, incision & drainage, and assist with procedures such as PAP smears and high vaginal swabs.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments and emergency surgeries, ensuring safe admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date clinical competencies, including Basic Life Support, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Valid registration as a nurse with the relevant UAE health authority.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider certification.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to work across departments, provide on‑call coverage and support other nursing units as needed.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and emergency response procedures.
• ECG performance and interpretation.
• IV cannulation and medication administration.
• Vital signs monitoring and patient assessment.
• Wound care management, suturing and suture removal.
• Procedural assistance (foreign body removal, incision & drainage, PAP smear, high vaginal swab).
