Registered Nurse – PICU

About the role

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse provides specialized, life‑saving care to critically ill infants, children and adolescents in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment at Danat Al Emarat, a leading women’s and children’s hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, high‑quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in accordance with clinical standards and protocols.
• Continuously monitor and assess vital signs, neurological status, and overall condition, promptly identifying and responding to changes.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced life‑support interventions, including ventilation and cardiac monitoring.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with the relevant regulatory body (e.g., DOH/DHA/MOH).
• Minimum of 2–3 years recent experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit or similar critical‑care setting.

Required skills

• Operate and manage ventilators.
• Manage infusion pumps.
• Use patient monitoring systems.
• Administer IV therapies and medications.
• Perform advanced life‑support interventions.
